SHOPPING FOR SHOES
Wed 6th May, 7.30pm
Siobhan McClusky is 13 and passionately politically aware. She spends her nights surfing the net, chatting on MSN, signing on-line petitions and protesting against climate change.
Shaun Holmes is also 13 but is passionate about only one thing - shoes. He has 60 pairs. They demonstrate his identity - he sees the Nike logo as a symbol of the poetry of resistance against the dull routine of the modern world - both he and it proclaim Just Do It.
A small part of Siobhan’s heart belongs to Shaun even though he’d have difficulty putting a name to her face. Undeterred, and with a little bit of planning and nifty footwork, Siobhan soon helps Shaun discover that a pair of shoes can do so much more than just help a person express themselves.
Shopping for Shoes is a funny and heart-warming tale of new found love, dog poo and of course…shoes…LOTS of shoes! (For age 10+)
